I knew I was a natural event planner from an early age. I always wanted to organize the doll tea parties, the Barbie vacations and later in life just about everything.
I went so far as to coordinate my children’s outfits to match their birthday invitations so that the scrapbook pages would be awesome. I have since taken it down a notch or two but suffice it to say I make a big deal out of any event!
My 22 year old son used to tease me when I insisted that we all have dinner together Friday because he would be on a hockey road trip for the weekend. “Mom I’ll be back Sunday, I’m not going away to University!” (He has since moved away to University, I am glad we had those dinners!)
So for me once Christmas is over it is time to start thinking about Valentine’s Day!
What’s not to love? Pink and red everything, chocolate, flowers, an excuse to get all sentimental with my grown children.
Wondering how to celebrate the holiday this year? It is on a Saturday so the sky is the limit! You can celebrate all weekend!
Enjoy your little ones for they will be all grown up like mine in no time! No crafts or tea parties but the rest is fair game at my house!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
When you look into your mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth.
